The Definitive Guide to Safe and Effective Soft Washing Solutions

Soft Washing and Power Washing: Which Does Your Property Need?

Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that combines gentle water flow with specialized cleaning solutions to remove dirt, grime, mold, mildew and organic staining from exterior surfaces. Because it works chemically rather than by force, it is the right choice for delicate materials: asphalt shingle roofs, vinyl and stucco siding, soffits, screens and stained wood, where high pressure would strip shingle granules, force water behind cladding or erode the grain.

Power washing uses high pressure, typically 2,000 to 4,000 PSI, and is the right choice for dense, non-porous surfaces: concrete driveways and slabs, sidewalks, patios, brick, pavers, parking lots and dumpster pads. On those materials it lifts embedded oil, tire marks and the black algae film that Baton Rouge humidity bakes into the pores of the concrete.

We run both systems and match the method to the surface, so the two are complementary rather than competing. The articles below cover both, along with the cleaning intervals that suit Southern Louisiana's humid climate.
